The International Entente Floral by 12 European countries participated. The president of the jury for the European Entente Floral found the green in Uden quiet and simple: "Everything is in proportion. It is not exaggerated, there is much green open space, there is a harmony. There is a balance between agricultural and soft tourism." The jury found under the impression from the Peel Breukrand and van Uden-South: "Everything is in harmony, the houses, streets, the gardens." Naturepark Slabroek also impressed as the green, often with three rows, and along the middle of the road. "A green pearl", so called Hetsch Monika from Austria the town of Uden after an earlier visit to the greenest city in the Netherlands.

The sand hills of Bedaf
The poor sandy soil, as this occurs naturally, did not grow easily because nothing would grow on it. The farmers, both livestock and agriculture experts, knew that the manure of cattle was an important soil improver. To make the manure transportable, from the surrounding moorland landscape they cut out heathland sod and put in the stables. Layer by layer, higher and higher, until the livestock head knocked on the roof. In this way enriched heathland sod were spread on the fields and provided a rich harvest.

Kruisheren
After Kruisheren in 1629 in 's-Hertogenbosch were displaced, they tried to settle in Schijndel, but also because their work was impossible. In 1639 they moved to Uden in the Land of Ravenstein, where Catholic worship was not impeded. Initially they live in a farm at Vorstenburg, where in 1652 the construction of a monastery began. When the Chapel of Onze Lieve Vrouwe Linde went to serve, the distance from the monastery was onerous. So in 1697 they built a new monastery, which in 1700 was put into use. The old convent was sold in 1711 to Birgittinessen of Coudewater, led by abbess Theodora de Haen, who feared that their convent would be lifted.
